On the 18th August 2020 Ineos Forties Pipeline intend to carry out an oil spill response training exercise on the River Avon, this will take place at the river that runs alongside Grangemouth Refinery and Kinnell Kerse Waste Water Treatment. This site has been chosen as it is located only 0.2km from the refinery and would prove an ideal location in the event of a real life incident.
The training exercise will entail the practice deployment of equipment by our contractor Veolia, to ensure familiarity with equipment and the process should there ever be an oil spill. Please note no oil is involved in exercises and the environment/land is not disturbed by this process in any way. These are routine exercises carried out yearly. We anticipate the exercise will commence about 9AM and finish around 3PM.
