Anglers throughout the UK are being asked to take part in a major new research programme on the social and community benefits of angling, the better to inform policymakers and angling organizations in the future.
The research aims to collect vital evidence about the influence that angling has on participants, young people and the communities in which angling takes place. Being publically funded by the Big Lottery, the research findings will be very much in the public domain. This first phase of the research will finish at the end of October 2009.
For more information and to access the questionnaire, visit the website www.anglingresearch.org.uk and click through to the survey. All the information gathered will be anonymised and no individual personal data will be disclosed.
The research is being undertaken by Substance www.substance.coop, a not-for-profit social research company, and is supported by the Angling Trust, the Environment Agency and a range of other angling organisations in the UK.
